Trip and Trip Stream Data

I am looking for how to join the Vehicle Trip and Trip Stream data from the API calls together. If join the Vehicle Trip startMS, endMS, and AssetID to the Trip Stream tripStartTime, tripEndTime, AssetID I do not get any results. Just using the start and end times gives results but the Asset IDs do not line up.
